The Go! Bespoke team has been working hard on a few new projects. One of those new projects is our partnering with Smithtown Landing Country Club to become a Preferred Vendor (for which we are so thrilled!).
We take our responsibility to our couples very seriously and want to share with you exactly why we are so thrilled and what Smithtown Landing is - not only the service they provide but the feelings and beliefs it stands for.
This past June the team and I had the honor of touring the stunning country club and meeting General Manager Rich Laurelli and his hospitable staff: Debbie and Michelle. Smithtown Landing Country Club is owned by the Lessings Family which established their food service brand in 1890. And yes, 'family' is a key component in the Smithtown Landing foundation, primarily because the staff's warm welcome made us feel right at home! We began our tour strolling the manicured grounds and pristine golf course; I couldn't help but envision a young couple and their bridal party pose for photos among the crisp, green backdrop.
Smithtown Landing offers three reception rooms to choose from depending on your style criteria or wedding size. The first room we toured was the Riverview Room, which over looks the country club's luscious green golf course. This room is perfect for the couple that seeks a smaller, intimate wedding - which can accustom ninety guests. Outside the Riverview is a tented terrace which is perfect for an outdoor cocktail hour or if guests are looking to take in the view.
Next, we meandered over to the Nissequoge House, which was my personal favorite out of the three options. The house can accommodate a reception up to 125 guests. What I love most about this room is that its aesthetic embodied elegance and traditional craftsmanship. From the crown moldings to the intricate finishing around the two fire places, the Nissequoge House gives the feeling of warmth and sophistication. An outdoor deck overlooks the Nissequoge River, which is ideal for an intimate ceremony.
Last but not least was the Ball Room, every Long Island bride's dream. The entrance of the room begins with a detailed alcove with beautiful woodwork. As you make your way into the room your eyes are flashed with beautiful sparkling chandeliers and mirrors that reflect the sunlight in the most romantic way. The room's light is warm and intimate while the décor is grand and classic. Fresh white linens grace the tables while gold chairs are tucked perfectly in their place. The Ball Room is ideal for a large affair that calls for dancing and celebration. Standing in the empty ball room at that particular moment, the quietness was almost palpable and sacred, for you know that in matter of hours it will be loud and joyous!
The highlight of the tour was chatting with General Manager Rich Laurelli in the kitchen with the aroma of simmering Vodka Sauce on the stove and roasted garlic floating in the air. Right away you know that Rich really cares about each and every person that he comes in contact with, it's no wonder couples feel so welcomed and at ease when working with him.
When I asked Rich about the Smithtown Landing experience he expressed that their priority is the couple. Whether it's a reception of fifty or two-hundred each couple receives equal attention and quality service. Laurelli believes in providing a warm experience and precise attention to detail. As he pulled roasted asparagus from the oven, he told me that Smithtown Landing only allows one wedding on the premise at a time and that's a rule not to be broken! Laurelli confided that he loves getting to know the couples and offering them any insight every step of the way.
I asked Rich what his favorite room was and he pondered...he told me it all depends on the season. If it's a fall wedding, the Nissequoge House is perfect with the autumn leaves as a backdrop. While the Ball Room and Riverview are ideal for spring and summer because of the tented terrace and golf course.
If you and your partner are looking for a intimate venue with personal service then Smithtown Landing can offer you an intimate ambiance and experience you long for. No wedding is too big or too small for Smithtown Landing. And it is clear that Laurelli's approachable demeanor and expertise are an added bonus.
