I recently took a trip down to D.C. for the cherry blossom festival. It has been on my bucket list for a while, and a favorite tree of mine since I was a kid. So on a whim, my boyfriend and I took a trip down to our Nation's Capital.
As I stood shoulder to shoulder moving like cattle with every other tourist, I couldn't get over the beauty of these trees. How perfect for engagement photos, I thought, what a perfect backdrop for recently engaged couples. Better yet, what about as centerpieces? The pink, fluffy blossoms would be a beautiful centerpiece for a spring ceremony. The branches add height and a unique touch, while the color brings a hint of romance and spring. Not to sound sappy, but I couldn't help but feel sentimental as we walked from tree to tree (sweet selfie after selfie.)
I learned that the trees first bloom as a vibrant pink and then fade to a soft white before they fall off the trees. Both colors are equally stunning. The festival was a great way to celebrate spring after the long winter we have endured!
Give it a thought brides, go outside to take your engagement photos and incorporate cherry blossoms as your centerpieces. You don't have to go down to D.C. necessarily, check out your local park - there's nothing more beautiful or blissful than nature.
