When planning a wedding, one of the biggest decisions a bride must make is picking a wedding gown. There are millions of designers, boutiques and dresses… how can we possibly choose? You want to make a statement when walking down the aisle in your amazing dress. A white or ivory gown will most likely continue being the most popular choice, but wearing pink, red or even black can be interesting alternatives. You can get the fluffiest dress out there, or cover yourself in the most feathers or crystals anyone has ever seen!
If I could get married (again), I would definitely choose a dress with a classy but daring back. There are intricate designs and barely there cuts with lace, pearls, bows, buttons, ruching… oh my! The back is a very sensual part of the body and says sexy without being trashy and I am loving the fact that so many designers are pushing the envelope and exploring the back of the wedding gown.
I am loving Galia Lahav's amazing attention to detail. The intricate lace patterns that frame your back and surprising additions like the draped pearls or the buttons down the middle take the cake. On the other hand you have Katie May keeping it simple with cuts for the most confident of brides, but the romantic in me keeps going back to the vintage inspired gowns by Claire Pettibone.
Ladies, you only get married once (hopefully) so take a risk, be bold, make us remember you in your fabulous backless dress!
